Wherever possible, arrangements will be made for prospective clients to visit the project for a face to face assessment. We feel that this is the best way for both the client and the agency to decide whether this is the right place for them.

However, in cases where a prospective service user is unable to visit the project (for example they are in detox or in custody) we will arrange for an assessment to be carried out either by a member of staff visiting the client or over the telephone.

All prospective clients travelling to the project for assessment will be collected from the train/bus station by a member of staff.

Following the assessment, a team meeting will take place in order for staff to decide whether the Sanctuary is best placed to meet the needs of the prospective client. Clients, Care Managers and any other professionals or agencies involved with the client will be informed of the decision within two working days of the assessment. Written confirmation will follow within 5 working days.

In the case of a decision not to offer the client a place at this project, a letter stating the reasons for this decision will be sent to the applicant within 5 working days.
