Application and Referral
Application Criteria
Applications are welcome from men who:
- Are aged 18 and over
- Are willing to participate in group and one to one counselling sessions and are committed to addressing their substance misuse
- Are willing to undergo drug and/or alcohol testing as and when required
- Undergo a full assessment of service and care needs
- Do not have a record of Schedule 1 Offences
- Have not been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with severe mental health problems such as Schizophrenia or Manic Depression

Referral
Sanctuary accepts referrals from any source, including Local Authorities, Substance Misuse Teams, Social Services, Statutory and Non-statutory drug and alcohol services, DIP teams, Criminal Justice and Probation workers, other service providers, other agencies and professionals, and private self referrals.
Referrals can be made simply by telephoning Sanctuary or by contacting us online.
A brief referral form will be completed when we receive the referral and a decision will be made on whether an appointment for assessment is indicated.
